Traditional Man Wa Salwa
A metal box with a transparent window with powdered handmade Manna. A delicacy provided for the Israelites during their travels in the desert during the forty-year period following the Exodus and before the conquest of Canaan.
Opening the box would release clouds of flour and a strong scent of cardamom; inside, softballs of taupe-colored marshmallow-like candy nudged side-by-side.
Our man is taffy-like and stuffed with pistachios and flavored with cardamom.
