For those of you who only eat macadamia if it’s in your cookies, we have a few facts that will make you re-think your snacking routine. We all know that nuts are super nutritious (especially Al Rifai ones, duh) but the ones we’ve discovered about our little Australian are too intense not to share. Just a heads up in advance, you might want to grab a bowl of these delicious nuts because they are “get up mid- read worthy.” Thank us later.

Macadamia are 100 percent cholesterol free and help an extreme amount when it comes to reducing cholesterol levels. This nut is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, which are known to be cardio protective, which are a key factor in cleaning arteries. If consumed often Macadamia also lowers the level of triglycerides, whish is a type of body fat that can reduce the risk of coronary disease.

  1. Antioxidants:

The second health benefit of macadamia comes from their high flavonoid content. Flavonoids, which are naturally found in these plants, can help prevent cells from damage and protection against environmental toxins. These flavonoids convert into antioxidants in our body and search to destroy free radicals, which protect our bodies from various diseases and certain types of cancers such as breast, cervical, lungs and stomach.

The biggest myth about watching your weight is eating macadamia. If you’ve been trying to avoid it to lose weight you’ve been living a lie! The fat in macadamia is monounsaturated fat which actually promote fat loss. Macadamia nuts are rich in palmitoleic acid and omega 7 fatty oil that provide building blocks for enzymes and control the burning of fat and push aside the appetite.
